IRL Connect Gives Visual Presence to Social Networks

Two of the hot areas in social networking at the moment are geolocation and visualisation. IRL (In Real Life) is one company looking to bring these together.

IRL, which describes itself as “the only visual social networking company that adds presence to social networks and social media”, has announced Facebook and Twitter integration with its IRL Connect product. IRL Connect allows users to update their status on all platforms and see their friends’ location via Google Maps.

IRl CEO Frank Schuil said:

IRL takes the features of social networking that allow users to communicate and connect and makes the user’s location the most important part of the information they broadcast. Instead of just browsing through profiles and status updates, IRL Connect brings Facebook and Twitter into its visual social network that is no longer just about what friends are doing and saying, but where they are located
